Bengals
The Bengals announced their official 53 man-roster this week, with fan favorites like Landon Robinson and Dohnte Myers making the squad. Find the full roster here:
The Bengals also wrapped up the preseason @ the Philadelphia Eagles this week, winning 30-13. This means that Cincinnati finished the preseason undefeated for the first time since 2006.
Cincinnati’s offense marched 60 yards down the field on the opening drive to set up a 29-yard field goal by Evan McPherson. 51 of those 60 yards were receptions by wide receiver Dohnte Myers.
McPherson drilled a 58-yarder on the next drive to extend Cincinnati’s lead to 6-0
Cornerback Tacario Davis, the Bengals’ third-round draft pick in April, notched the game’s first takeaway with an interception. The Bengals capitalized on the interception, as McPherson added a 34-yard field goal, his third of the night.
The rest of the game played out smoothly for the Bengals, as they dominated the Eagles. Now, the build for a week one match-up with the Buccaneers is in full swing.
FC Cincinnati
FCC traveled to Nashville this week for their lone game. Nashville is an extremely tough opponent, as they currently sit in first place in the MLS. They ended up beating FCC 4-0. No matter how good Nashville is, this was an embarrassing result. Cincinnati conceded three second-half goals and were dominated in their own half. Fans are calling for a move to be made before the transfer-window closes, and the front office delivered.
Monday brought news of a loan of 25-year-old Argentine CB Julian Malatini from Bundesliga side SV Werner Bremen. There will be a purchase option as well. While he has been injured frequently, he’s an extremely talented defender & should help strengthen the back line.
This week, Cincinnati hosts D.C. United at home on Saturday.
Reds
The Reds went 3-3 this week, winning the series against the Cubs (2-1) and losing to the Giants (1-2).
Headlines of the week:
The Reds were down 9-3 heading into the ninth inning against San Francisco. However, the Reds exploded for a seven-run 9th inning to pull off a 10-9 victory. The rally was ignited by a Eugenio Suarez grand slam and finalized by a Tyler Stephenson go-ahead single. It marked the first time since 1958 that the franchise overcame a 6+ run deficit in the 9th to win.
The Reds beat the Cubs on national television Sunday night. A three-run shot from Hector Rodriguez and a solo homer from Sal Stewart propelled Cincinnati to a 7-5 win.
Rookie Sal Stewart reached 100 RBIs on the season, tying Jim Greengrass (1953) for the most RBIs by a rookie in Reds franchise history.
Veterans Eugenio Suarez and TJ Friedl were placed on outright waivers by the club. Both players went unclaimed and will remain with Cincinnati.
The Reds match up with the Padres and Brewers this week for a home-stand.

Transfer forward Mark Mitchell is now leaving Kentucky and heading back to Missouri for the 2026-2027 basketball season. This is due to threats and new rules made by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
