Xavier landed their second commitment this week for the 2027 recruiting class. Kerr had been on campus Wednesday and wrapped his visit this week. He committed on Friday.
The 76th overall recruit in the class, he played last year at Brewster Academy, averaging 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. He went 40-115 from deep this year. Kerr is an extremely athletic wing who has an NCAA ready frame. He likely will look to bulk up a bit as he moves towards Big East competition, however, he has the intangibles. As an added bonus, he has already been playing against physical, elite competition in high school and with Garner Road on the Adidas AAU circuit. He’s great off the dribble and can make his own shot as needed. He fits the mold of what Xavier is looking to do on both sides of the ball.
Xavier had made Kerr a priority overall throughout the summer, really ramping up their recruiting efforts over the last several months. Kerr’s final 5 were Baylor, Maryland, NC State, Tennessee and Xavier.
For those keeping track at home, that’s two official visits for priority recruits, with two subsequent commitments shortly after in two weeks. Pitino and co. are on a ROLL.
All focus turns to continuing the momentum with four-star big Jaydn Jenkins on campus currently. The staff are also still pursuing local product Josh Tyson.
