Sansom Sports Media was founded by Hunter Sansom, a lifelong sports enthusiast whose passion for bracketology sparked a much larger vision. Frustrated by the apparent disconnect between traditional media outlets and everyday fans, Hunter set out to build a platform that gives fans a real voice in the conversation.
Based in Northern Kentucky—a connection proudly reflected in the site’s NKY Bracketology branding and Cincinnati skyline logo—Hunter leverages his proximity to some of the nation’s premier basketball programs to deliver accessible, interactive, and high-level coverage. He is a credentialed media member for Xavier, Cincinnati, NKU, Purdue, Louisville, Ohio State, the NCAA Tournament and multiple other programs. as well as a proud member of the USBWA and FWAA.

Parker Egeland – Managing Editor
Parker has been involved with sports all his life, even before his life with his dad being a professional hockey player. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and now a student in Boone at Appalachian State University, majoring in Digital Journalism, Parker has begun writing about sports, covering the Mountaineers for three years, and being named associate sports editor of the App State student newspaper in April of 2026. On top of that, Parker created the Braves Connection Twitter account in 2022, which has since grown to over 2,000 followers covering Atlanta Braves baseball. Southeastern college basketball is his passion, but he is well versed in nearly any and every sport on the planet. Parker is determined to bring proper coverage to all leagues, from the NFL to the Big South, because good sports can be found anywhere.
Charlie Leatherwood
Meet Charlie, a lifelong Cincy fan and Xavier loyalist, Charlie is turning his passion for sports into a career in journalism. He returns for his third year of Bracketology, delivering weekly seed lists and must-see graphics all season long. From the gridiron to the hardwood, Charlie covers CFB and the biggest stories in sports. We’re excited to have his energy and insight on the team!
Jason Burgess
Being from New Hampshire, Jason is a lifelong Red Sox and Celtics fan of over 40 years. He’s been a college basketball fanatic since 1985, when Villanova shocked the world. He has been a UNLV fan since their title in 1990. There isn’t a sport that he doesn’t follow, from college baseball to NASCAR and the Olympics. In high school, Jason became the first person with an ambulatory disability (cerebral palsy) to play baseball. He had dreams of becoming a sports broadcaster, but turned to writing while attending UNH. After UNH, he worked as an Associated Press stringer covering the AHL. For the last eight years, he was a contributor for Busting Brackets, where he served as the bracketologist for the last three. He enjoys covering every level of the sport, from coast to coast and from the Blue Bloods to the Presbyterian Blue Hose.
I’m a lifelong college basketball fanatic from Northern Kentucky with deep roots in the sport. My family connection to the game runs through my great-uncle, John Crigler, who played on the legendary “Fiddlin’ Five” University of Kentucky teams under Adolph Rupp and helped capture a national championship.
Despite that Kentucky connection, my heart has always belonged to Cincinnati Bearcats athletics. My love for the University of Cincinnati began as a kid listening to my dad tell stories about the glory years of Bob Huggins and grew even stronger during the Mick Cronin era. Some of my favorite Bearcats over the years include Sean Kilpatrick, Gary Clark, Deonta Vaughn, and Jarron Cumberland.
My friends often joke that I’m a college basketball “sicko”. I love diving into recruiting, tracking prospects, uncovering every detail I can find, and following the future of the program. Whether it’s breaking down a new commitment, analyzing roster construction, or discussing the latest recruiting developments, I’m always eager to talk Bearcats basketball.
I’m also a proud father, with my son turning one this year. I can’t wait to bring him to Fifth Third Arena and Nippert Stadium in the coming years, just as my father did with me.

My name is Drew Byous, 23 years old, from St. Louis, Missouri. I’m a senior at the University of Kentucky, graduating in May. I have been a Kentucky fan and proud member of Big Blue Nation since I was a little kid.
I have a deep passion for Sports Journalism and Media, and I’m excited to continue to grow on this platform.

Eli Kadakia
Eli grew up on the Westside of Cincinnati, where his love of all things Cincy began. A lifelong Reds and Bengals fan, he is starting his senior season at Indiana University and serves as the lead on all things Hoosiers during football and basketball season. Eli is super excited to join the team this year, and we are excited to have him!
Mason is a Louisville native and lifelong Cards fan. He is studying Communications at Bellarmine University and hoping to turn his passion and love for sports into a career. He enjoys watching midweek MACtion, rooting for upsets, and loves all things college sports. Mason is looking forward to joining the team and covering the Cardinals.
Chandler Weissman – ACC Correspondent
Chandler is a freshman at Florida State University studying mathematics with the goal of breaking into the sports industry on the analytical side. Growing up in Atlanta, he developed an early passion for sports and became a big Braves and Hawks fan. Influenced by a father from Los Angeles and a mother from Tampa, he also roots for the Lakers, Kings, and Buccaneers. Although he played baseball through the varsity level in high school, Chandler’s true passion is watching and analyzing every game and player across all sports, even now following European soccer since the World Cup.
He runs what is now TSM Transfer Portal on X, which aims to track the offseason activity in CFB and CBB through the transfer portal, high school recruiting, and international signees in an ever-changing climate. He is excited to cover the ACC for Sansom Sports Media!

Lucas is a veteran, published policy analyst with a growing interest in sports journalism. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Alabama in 2024 with a major Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies.
Lucas has always been a major sports enthusiast since his youth. John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats in the early 2010’s were where he found his first love of college basketball. Providing insightful commentary eloquently while breaking down the inner workings of gameplay is what Lucas seeks to accomplish working with Sansom Sports Media. He looks forward to covering the topsy turvy world of NIL that we live in today.
