Wright State and men’s basketball coach Clint Sargent have agreed on a contract extension, according to the university. The move, which will keep Sargent in Dayton through the 2030-31 season, comes after he led the Raiders to the Horizon League regular season and tournament championships in the same campaign for the first time in school history.

Sargent, entering his third year as the Head Coach of the program, has compiled a 38-30 record as Wright State’s head coach. He won 2025-26 Horizon League Coach of the Year honors for his work with last year’s squad.

In the 2026 NCAA Tournament, the No. 14 seed Raiders led the No. 3 seed Virginia Cavaliers for much of their Round of 64 contest before falling 82-73. The nine-point margin of defeat is the smallest in a Round of 64 matchup in program history.

Sargent followed this success by landing a highly regarded transfer class, adding the likes of CJ O’Hara, Chadlyn Traylor and Nikola Djapa, among others, to the roster. With these new players in the fold, Sargent and the Raiders are set up to repeat last year’s accomplishments.
