Welcome to the 2026-27 season of college athletics, voters! This year, the Sansom Sports Media Poll has evolved a bit to include voters from other social platforms (Facebook and Reddit users welcome in)! Let’s start with the Big Ten!

Here’s how the initial iteration worked out with our 14 initial voters for the Big Ten! Ohio State narrowly beat out Oregon and Indiana for first place! Those three were clearly 1-3, with USC being solidly in that 4 spot. After that, 5-8 was a very close group as expected. The Big Ten is extremely deep this year, with teams like Illinois and Nebraska falling to 9/10.
In a prove it year for Luke Fickell, his Badgers come in at 13th overall. Maryland, Northwestern, Michigan State, Rutgers, and Purdue round out the back end of the conference projections this year.
