The biggest winner this weekend was the Big 12. BYU grabbed a monumental victory over Notre Dame in Provo to vault up to the top of the rankings for CFP bracketology.

Last week, we had Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, and Alabama as our top 4. Three of those teams fell last weekend.
Naturally, Miami moves to first as they are undefeated and have looked the best across the season.
BYU, after the Notre Dame victory moves to No. 2 this week from eighth place. The Cougars have proven they’re the real deal this season.
Ohio State jumps to No. 3 after beating Indiana in Bloomington. Outside of the one quarter, the Buckeyes have looked elite all season.
Georgia fell to Auburn this weekend. However, they remain in fourth as they have looked great outside of that game and have one of the best wins in the country.
Indiana, despite the loss to Ohio State, goes to fifth place. This is a direct result of Texas losing two straight, and the Indiana defense showing that they are genuinely elite. Indiana won’t face another defense as good as Ohio State’s and their offense will put up more than 14 on most, if not all opponents.
Texas Tech is undefeated, and their victory over Houston continues to look great. They head to Cincinnati this weekend for an extremely intriguing matchup with plenty of off the field storylines.
Notre Dame fell to BYU this weekend in heartbreaking fashion. However, their season isn’t over. They will get a chance but their margin for error is gone. A second loss will likely push them outside of the top 12, thus outside of the CFP.
Utah is undefeated, and while they have looked great for the most part, they struggled with Colorado this weekend, and their best win is over Iowa State in Ames. If they can beat Houston this weekend, they will continue to climb up the rankings.
Ole Miss continues to shine throughout the year outside of that one game vs. Florida. Since then, they have dominated Vanderbilt 52-17 and then blitzed Missouri this weekend 31-3. A victory over Texas this weekend would equate to two things: Texas officially eliminated, and Ole Miss having a monumental resume and looking to host a CFP game.
Tennessee just beat Alabama, and the victory over Auburn is aging very well.
Alabama fell to Tennessee this weekend, and with it they dropped like a rock because of it. Losing to either Georgia or Tennessee in isolation isn’t a bad thing. However, losing back to back will make people do a double take at them. A 3 loss Alabama will get in the playoffs, but only if that third loss is in the SEC Championship. Right now, they are a game behind Kentucky and Georgia for the SEC championship spot. If they do not make the conference championship, they cannot lose another game.
Boise State was on a bye this weekend and they will head to Pullman, Washington to face off with the Cougars on Saturday.
