In yet another twist in this long, winding road of eligibility decisions and legal battles, the Ohio Supreme Court got involved just one day after the executive order from Governor Mike DeWine.

The ultimate decision was to stay the Ohio Appeals Court decision, and reverting to the lower courts injunction. This means that for now, Filip Borovicanin, MJ Collins, Antwone Woolfolk, and the rest of the players involved in the lawsuit in Borovicanin v. NCAA are eligible. However, the Ohio Supreme Court has also ordered a briefing on the impact of the executive order signed by DeWine on October 13, meaning that this case is far from over.
These fifteen page or less documents are due to the Ohio Supreme court no later than 5:00 on Monday, October 19th, 2026.
They have indicated that they will not be allowing extensions on this case.
In the interim this means that these players can immediately return to practice and competition. However, it also means there are several more twists and turns remaining. Finally, the Supreme Court getting involved was always the ultimate destination for this case, and it appears that the executive order just helped to expedite that process.
