This Week in Xavier Athletics: 9/6-9/13

Our weekly update on Xavier Athletics is back for another edition! Fall Sports continued action all around, starting with Women’s Golf!

Women’s Golf

The team competed at The Bruzzy presented by Ashley Herrera this past week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Xavier’s Isabel Brozena shared the individual title with Kaleigh Babineaux (Nebraska), Victoria Schuldt (UTSA), Meg Tilma (Oklahoma) and Sofia Vargas (Illinois). All five golfers hit 10-under-par 206.

The Musketeers hit 854 (-10), placing sixth in a field of 11. Their score of 854 (-10) established a new school record for 54 holes.

This week, the team heads to the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman. They play from September 18th (Friday) to the 20th (Sunday).

Women’s Soccer

Soccer opened the week on Thursday at home against the Dayton Flyers. The Musketeers dominated, winning 4-0.

Goals: Maria Tapia (8′), Frances Reuland (33′), McKinley Berry (67′), and Brooklyn O’Brien (77′)

Assists: Peyton Kohls (8′), Alexis Morrison (33′), Reese Sochacki and Peyton Kohls (67′)

On Sunday, Xavier hosted Western Michigan, where they took a 3-1 win.

Goals: Brooklyn O’Brien (2′), Kieran Bradley (38′), Regan Dancer (49′)

Assists: Frances Reuland (2′, 49′), Abby Unkraut (38′)

The Musketeers are now 4-2 on the year.

Looking ahead to this week, they travel to Eastern Kentucky (Thursday) and Southern Indiana (Sunday).

Men’s Tennis

The Musketeers opened up the Fall 2026 tournament schedule at the NKU Fall Invitational. They went 15-3 overall in singles for the weekend, starting off a season full of high hopes.

Volleyball

Volleyball hosted their very own tournament this weekend, the “Xavier Tournament.”

The Musketeers started off against St. Louis, winning 3-1 (25-20, 24-26, 25-19, 25-12).

On Saturday, they dominated Austin Peay, winning 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-19).

Later that day, the Muskies faced off with Bowling Green. They continued their streak, winning 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-18).

The Muskies won their home tournament and improved to 6-3 on the year.

This week, they host Cincinnati on Friday and Akron on Sunday.

Men’s Soccer

Xavier played one game this week, traveling to St. Thomas on Sunday. Xavier earned a hard-fought 1-0 win.

Goals: Osi Onwudiwe (67′)

Assists: Gerard Lorente (67′)

The Musketeers are now 4-0-1 on the season.

Looking ahead, they travel to DePaul this Friday for their lone game.

Men’s Golf

They play in the Bearcat Invitational both today (9/14) and tomorrow (9/15). However, results will be posted in next week’s edition.

Cross Country

The men’s and women’s teams will be at the Rumble in the Fort in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday.

Swimming

The team has their Alumni Meet on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Baseball

On Sunday, the team matches up with the Louisville Cardinals at Prasco Park for an exhibition.
