Welcome to the 2026-27 football season! This year, as we did for the preseason conference polls, all voting will take place from the discord server. You can join at this link here. If you are a part of the established group chat on X, you will continue to get the links there, but I highly encourage the Discord as it is the best way to get messages out without them getting lost!

Big Ten Dominance Continues
Ohio State takes the top spot, followed closely by reigning National Champ Indiana. The two both received 10 first place votes. Oregon received 3 first place votes, coming in 3rd. The Big Ten take the top 3 and will look to claim a 4th title in a row.
Can the SEC get Back to the Promise Land?
After that, Georgia was the clear 4th place team, while Texas was solidly 5. The SEC put in nine teams in the top 25, the most of any conference, however, the national consensus still leans toward the top of the Big Ten over the SEC.
The Best of the Rest:
When I say “the rest”, it’s not a slight toward the other conferences, however in today’s world, the richest conferences are at the top. Right now, that is absolutely the Big Ten and SEC for football. Basketball is much more even.
Miami and Notre Dame were 6 and 7. ND received the 24th first place vote, but had a couple of outliers pushing them toward 15 & keeping them out of the top 5.
The Big 12 saw Texas Tech and BYU at the top of the conference, and the two will likely fight all season long, likely culminating in the two meeting for the Big 12 title game in December.
