Kael Robinson spent just one season with NKU, however, his impact was immense. After transferring in from Montana State (Billings), the Hamilton, New Zealand native quickly found his footing. Despite his injury in the middle of the year, Kael became a key to NKU’s success, helping stretch the floor and provide a presence that allowed LJ Wells to thrive down low.
2025-26 Season
Robinson put up 14 points, 5 rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal per game last year. He shot 49% from 3, 45% from the field, and 82% from the FT line. His impact is not one that will soon be forgotten. His most significant performance in a Norse uniform came in Milwaukee on January 9th. He put up 29 points, hitting a record-tying 9 three pointers in the game. This puts him in the D1 record books, at least for now!
Before NKU
At Montana State, Kael spent one year where he averaged 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a block. He was an all-GNAC first team selection, and All-GNAC tournament team. Before MSUB, he was at Rocky Mountain College in the NAIA where he racked up honors each of his three years, culminating with a 19 points, 8 rebounds junior season.
About The BNZ Breakers
The BNZ Breakers play in the NBL, the top tier of Australian and New Zealand basketball. They have won 3 NBL regular season championships (2011, 12, and 13). They won the league playoffs 4 times (in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015). Recently, they have been in a bit of a rebuild with their best finish being their 2022-23 3rd place finish. The Breakers are based out of Auckland and have a 4,500 capacity home court.
Kael will now head back to his home country to achieve his dream of playing overseas!
