Pat Kelsey and the Louisville Cardinals wrapped up a quick trip fown to the Bahamas on Tuesday after participating in the 2026 Baha Mar Hoops Summer League.
The Cards toppled the Bahamas Raw Talent squad 101-52, overcoming a sluggish start before starting to pull away at the end of the first half. Afterward, they never looked back.
Due to this one not being televised or broadcast on the radio, fans were left scoreboard watching. The Cardinals finished going 44% from the field and 41% (14/34) from 3. After trailing 14-12 midway through the first half, Louisville went on a 34-16 run heading into halftime. From that point on, it would be all Cards in the second. They outscored the Bahamas 55-22 the rest of the way.
The unquestioned star for Louisville was Flory Bidunga. The Kansas transfer stuffed the box score with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 blocks, and a steal. Dayton transfer De’Shayne Montgomery was the leading scorer with 20 points, also recording 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Montgomery finished 5/8 from the field including going 3/4 from three.
The trip was originally scheduled to include two games against the Bahamas team. However, due to limited roster availability for the Cardinals and out of precaution for Karter Knox and Obinna Ekezie Jr, game two was canceled.
This is the second time in three summers that Louisville has made the trip to the Bahamas for this event. NCAA rules now permit teams to take foreign tours every summer. Arkansas, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Valparaiso are also participants in the 2026 Baha Mar Hoops Summer League. The event runs from July 28-Aug. 10.
“This is a business trip for our team,” Pat Kelsey said in a press release prior to the game. “The chances to get 10 additional practices and a pair of games under our belt before the school year begins is absolutely invaluable. When we played in the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League two years ago, we saw what a great benefit that extra court time could have on our team, and we are looking for a similar effect with this quick trip to Nassau,” Kelsey said.
While the 2026-27 schedule is not yet finalized, the Cardinals are confirmed to be completing their home-and-home exhibition series with the Kansas Jayhawks on October 21st. This marquee matchup will take place in legendary Allen Fieldhouse.
