Continuing our trek through the Miami offense, today we’ll dive into this year’s Miami Redhawk WR room!
If you missed it, I highlighted the three headed monster of a QB race here:
The quarterback room doesn’t really matter if he has no one to get the ball to. The WR room is highlighted by Keith Reynolds, the former Washington transfer who is a redshirt Junior!
Wide Receivers:

Keith Reynolds:
Reynolds, an Adelanto, California native started 13 games last year, playing in all 14. He had 36 receptions for 352 yards and a TD, including an explosive 120 yard day @ Rutgers. On top of his duties on offense, he returned kicks, where he averaged 28.5 yards per return. In one of the most explosive plays of the entire season, he broke loose for a record breaking 100-yard return against UNLV for a TD. Last year, he had 7 receptions twice (@ Rutgers, @ Akron). He added 5 catches @ NIU on 10/4.
You can see the raw athleticism and explosiveness on display for Keith when he’s on the field. This year, he’s going to look to become a consistent explosive threat for the RedHawks.
Braylon Isom:
Isom, a Saginaw, Michigan Native redshirted the 2024 year before playing in 12 games last year, catching 10 passes for 141 yards and 3 TD’s. His 3 TD’s are the most returning scoring from the RedHawks last year, and the 6’3″ RS-Sophomore is going to be asked to take on a much large role this year.
Lynel Billups-Williams:
Williams also returns from last year’s team, after playing in all 14 games last year, starting in 1. His 6 catches for 51 yards may sound low, but his true impact last year was punt returning, where he averaged 9.8 yards on the year, including a 42 yarder @ Buffalo.
Maleek Huggins:
Maleek will be playing his final year of college ball this year after 3 years at Gardner-Webb, and then 2 years at Bethune-Cookman. At Bethune last year, he had 64 receptions, 864 yards, 8 touchdowns, and a long of 85 yards. Huggins played in the FCS, and only competed with 2 FBS teams last year, going for 3/32/0 @ FIU, and then 1/-1/0 @ Miami (Fl). He had 8 games with 5 or more receptions and broke 150 yards 4 times on the year. He also put up multi-touchdown games 3 separate times.
His explosiveness and sure hands are there, however, the jump up in level of play is something that he will have to manage this year. Expect him to be a common target for the Miami QB room.
Quintin Simmons:
A Kentucky transfer, Simmons graduated from Withrow High School in Cincinnati. He did not see game action at UK, however, out of high school, he was a 4* recruit and had 20/316/6 his senior year. He will come in and be expected to contribute from day 1 for the RedHawks.
Devin Hyatt:
Devin is the brother of Jalin Hyatt who plays for the Giants, so there is an NFL pedigree here. At Arizona last year, he caught 1 ball for 10 yards, playing in 2 games. In 2024, he caught 7 passes for 109 yards for the Wildcats. The explosive ability is there (2024 had a 41 yard completion), and the 6’2″ WR is going to be asked to come into Oxford to make a large impact immediately.
Damarion Witten:
Witten is a Cleveland native and started his career at Ohio State where he was never able to break into that crowded receiving room. However, what he did successfully do is work with some of the best trainers and receivers in the world. Ohio State is elite at producing QB’s who are nationally regarded. Witten will take that experience and transfer to Miami where he will be asked to step in and make an immediate impact. Witten came into college as a TE before sliding out wide. He is 6’3″, 206lbs.

The Unknowns:
These guys are either freshmen, or redshirts, so their role and impact on the field is unproven and there are a lot of question marks moving into the year.
Carl Jenkins: The UCF transfer played in all of UCF’s games last year, however, he had just 3 catches for 32 yards. He will look to come into Oxford and consistently produce. He is 6’2″, 177lbs.
Andrew Bjorson: A Hinsdale, Illinois native, Andrew redshirted last year. He is 6’0″, 191lb.
Michael Parrish: A Whitehouse, Ohio Native, Michael is 6’2″, 189 pounds, he was on the team last year, but did not record any stats. He is a RS-Junior.
Brady Simmons: An Indiana Transfer last year, Brady caught just 1 pass for 9 yards. He is 6’1″, 173lbs.
Ian Tepas: Tepas is a Redshirt Freshman and is 6’0″, 202lbs.
William Pressley: William had 20 catches for 414 yards and 6TD’s last year as a senior despite playing in just 6 games. He earned all-state honors in Tennessee, and is entering his freshman year at Miami. He was a 3 star recruit per 247.
Justen Hodge: Hodge is a Mentor, Ohio native who was all-Ohio his junior and senior years. He is also a 3 star recruit coming into Miami. He is 6’1″, 190lbs.
Scoop Smith: He is a Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania native who earned PA player of the year in 2024 and 2025. He was a 3 star recruit and owns multiple school records. He is a 5’5″, 150lb receiver who will look to fill a similar mold to Keith Reynolds.
CJ Castner: Castner is a 5’9″ 175lb WR from West Chester, Ohio who started his career at Indiana State where he redshirted last year.
Tristan Reed: Reed is another highly regarded freshman, coming in after a 2100 yard, 30 TD senior season in Washington, PA. He is 6’5″, 180lbs, He’s a 3 star recruit and likely my pick for the most likely freshman to contribute from day one.
Jackson Ruth: He’s a 5’10”, 175lb freshman who graduated from Elder in Cincinnati. He caught 65 passes for 992 yards and 6TD’s last year. He was all-city and all-conference first team. Jackson is flying in under the radar and was unranked as a prospect.
Overall, there are a lot of names in the roster for the Miami WR room, however, there isn’t much proven production. Right now, I’d say Reynolds, Isom, Billups-Williams, Huggins, Simmons, Hyatt and Witten will all contribute and I believe Tristan Reed is the most likely freshman to make a splash. Outside of that, Miami will need other guys to impress in camp and step up to move the RedHawks passing game to where they want it to be.
Projecting the depth chart:
Reynolds/Witten WR1/2
Hyatt WR3
Billups-Williams/Simmons/Huggins/Isom all competing for WR4 and on. I’d add Reed into here too.
Stay tuned for next week’s RB room breakdown!
