Group E features a soccer giant with a lot on their shoulders, as well as 3 upstart nations looking to make lots of noise after breezing through the qualifiers.
Curacao (FIFA Rank 82)

Ecuador (FIFA Rank 23)

They have two of the best young defenders in all of South America, Piero Hincapie, who just won the English Premier League with Arsenal, and was key late in the season, as well as Willian Pacho, who just defeated Hincapie’s Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final, playing all 120 minutes.
Germany (FIFA Rank 10)

Manuel Neuer has come out of international retirement to play in one last World Cup. Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are household names at 23 years old. Nick Woltemade burst onto the scene in the past couple of years, and will be starting at striker with Kai Havertz. An injury to 18 year old Lennart Karl has his World Cup chances in jeopardy, but Germany would be just fine without him.
Ivory Coast (FIFA Rank 34)
One of the strongest teams in Africa, Ivory Coast have built a team that is going to contend for a long time. Long gone are the days of Didier Drogba, but Drogba has inspired the youth in Ivory Coast, and now have produced youngsters in Amad Diallo, Yan Diomande, Bazoumana Toure and many more. With more teams qualifying in 2026, Ivory Coast certainly have a great chance of making the knockout stage for the first time in their history. A preseason friendly win over France gives them immense hope for this tournament
Official Prediction:
Ecuador and Ivory Coast aren’t going to be pushovers for Germany, especially with all the pressure they are facing, but they will still get through this group, and set up a huge game between the two other big countries in the group for second.
