“Near Lock”

Not much has changed for the Wildcats. They beat Butler at home before getting blown out by St. John’s. They finish the regular season at DePaul and then host Xavier. As long as they don’t go 0-2; they are in. It’s more the sheer volume of wins that Nova has which have them in such great shape. They really don’t have many quality wins as their best wins are against Wisconsin in Milwaukee and road wins over Seton Hall and Butler.

“Bubble”

Once again it looked like Seton Hall had a season changing win right in the palm of their hand! They led UConn by 8 with under 7 minutes left, but let it slip away. As a result, they are still out of the projected field and need to beat Xavier and St. John’s this week to have a chance going into the Big East Tournament. If they go 1-1 they probably drop to “Fringe Bubble”. If they go 0-2, it’s Auto-bid or bust.

It’s crazy to me how things look in the Big East. It’s not much different than the WCC. You have 1 team in contention for a very high seed. You have another solid team and a bubble team. Then, you have one other team that needs to pick off one of the good teams to have a chance to get in. Crazy times!
