My Updated Bracket is here!
Trouble Points:
- Final 1 seed: Houston V. Iowa State V. UConn
- 3 seeds. The Back end is tight and I’ll be very curious to see how the committee evaluates Gonzaga in particular.
- 4 seeds. Vanderbilt vs. Texas Tech vs. Alabama was my main debate. Arkansas/SJU could be sleepers to jump up.
- The 8 line on down is a disaster. Specifically starting at UCF down to the 11 line, they are very close.
- Auburn is very close to falling out because the volume of losses is starting to become a problem.
- Saint Mary’s has zero Q1 wins, however, their overall profile is solid, so they’re a 9.
- As Miami (OH) remains undefeated, they will stay on the 10 line. If they drop they’ll move to the 11.
- A&M, USC, Georgia are all in similar spots and need to keep getting wins and avoid further bad losses.
- Santa Clara and New Mexico are intriguing mid-major options with solid metric profiles overall!
- UCLA = my final team in. When you peel back the resume more, it gets very ugly, very quickly.
Friday Night, per usual is a bit slower in terms of #; however, the games we do get deliver!
VCU @ Saint Louis | 7:00, ESPN2
The Billikens will now take their first loss of the A-10 year back to Chaifetz Arena for the A-10 Game of the Year! VCU, with a win will move in, while SLU is a 7/8 currently. This game has monumental ramifications!
Saint Peters @ Iona | 7:00, ESPN+
This matchup is really interesting for Saint Peters as they come in as 1.5 pont underdogs, but will need this one to keep pushing towards Merrimack and the top of the conference.
Milwaukee @ Detroit Mercy | 7:00, ESPN+
This matchup is critical within the race for a home court advantage in the Horizon league. A win here would put the Titans in a great spot, however a loss means they’re in a 3 way tie for 5th with PFW and NKU. Detroit Mercy is favored by 2.5.
Green Bay @ Oakland | 7:00, ESPN+
Winner takes 2nd in the Horizon! Oakland is favored by 6.5.
Indiana @ Purdue | 8:00, FOX
Does Purdue get revenge? Do they have a hangover after losing to Michigan this week? There is no question Mackey will be rocking tonight. Both teams could use a win to push their seeding up a bid. For IU, this would be a win that would move them very close to a lock.
Siena @ Merrimak | 8:00, ESPNU
Merrimack is favored by 3.5 coming into this rock fight. While Merrimack has a solid lead inthe MAAC, this one would put them in a great spot to wrap it up early. Siena is fighting for that 2nd spot overall!
Bowling Green @ Miami (OH) | 8:30, CBSSN
Last, but absolutely not least, the undefeated RedHawks look to make it 27-0 at home infront of what is likely to be another sold-out crowd! Miami looks to move to 14-0, and continue to push toward not only a regular season title, but a coveted at-large bid!
