First, I hope all of you are safe and have gotten through this storm. If not, I hope you’re at least able to find a warm place to rest while the storm comes through!
Sunday was extremely slow. Congrats to the Patriots and the Seahawks for advancing to the Super Bowl!
From a hoops view, just 4 games occurred yesterday:
USC upsets Wisconsin in Madison! CBM had 29 points to help carry the Trojans! USC is currently projecting as a 9, as is Wisconsin.
South Florida beat FAU by 14 in sunny Tampa. FAU continues to be the favorite in the American, but it’s close!
Washington beats Oregon. What a disappointing season for Oregon, who continues to struggle. Washington is still not close to the bracket, but this is a good one to avoid dropping!
Mercyhurst beats Chicago State to get to 5-3 in NEC play.
Monday’s Slate:
While Monday shows us some more games, it doesn’t get back to full strength just because of the weather and nature of how Monday’s flow in season. We get 14 games overall!
Le Moyne @ FDU | 6:00, NEC Front Row
This is a big battle in the NEC regular season, as both teams are looking to catch LIU!
Louisville @ Duke | 7:00, ESPN
Louisville is finally healthy, but Duke is on a ROLL. Does Louisville’s offenseve firepower travel or will the icy conditions outside limit them? Duke is a 1 while Louisville is a 6.
Jackson State @ Florida A&M & Alcorn State @ Bethune-Cookman | 7:00
These two matchups feature 3 of the top teams in the SWAC this year. FL A&M is 5-1 as is Bethune. Jackson State is just a game back at 4-2!
Penn State @ Ohio State | 7:00, FS1
I expect to see OSU roll here. Penn State is winless so far in conference play. OSU is now in my bracket as one opf the last teams in!
UT Rio Grande Valley @ Texas A&M CC | 8:00, ESPN+
This is a battle at the top of hte Southland featuring teams chasing McNeese/SFA!
Arizona @ BYU | 9:00, ESPN
Game of the night! Is this the night the Cats fall? If they don’t fall here, do they fall at all? BYU is extremely good, but Arizona has been the best team in te country through 20 games. AZ is favored by 1.5 in what should be a toss-up. This one comes down to if BYU can get out of the gates solidly or if they continue the trend of poor first halves.
